The monthly meeting of the Howth Sea Angling Club took place on Friday 9th January 2012 in the

clubhouse. The meeting was chaired by Derek Evans as Terry is away on a winter break.

Secretary did not attend so no minutes of last meeting available. 15 members in attendance.

SECRETARY’S REPORT

No report available.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Details of club accounts and bills given. Bar takings for December reported with slight increase

over December of 2011. Figures for EBS account which matured on 29 December reported.

Account reinvested in new 15 month account at 5% interest to matured on 2nd April 2013.

SAFETY OFFICER’S REPORT

No report from safety officer.

RECORDER’S REPORT

Recorder gave report of last 3 beach competitions with results as follows:

5-Mile-Point 26/11/11

1st Jason Perry with 19 fish and 633 points.

2nd Philip Watts with 13 fish and 359 points.

3rd Nicky Byrne with 11 fish and 285 points.

Round pool won by Brian Duffy with a 26cm whiting. No flats caught

Wicklow 10/12/11

1st Jason Perry with 348 points.

2nd Gerry Clarke with 221 points.

3rd Brian Duffy with 138 points.

Longest round and flat pool won by Jason Perry with whiting of 22cm and dab of 25cm.

Greystones 7/1/12

1st Jason Perry with 704 points.

2nd Philip Watts and Nicky Byrne with 438 points each.

Longest round caught by Brian Duffy and longest flat by Philip Watts.

Prizes for all 3 competitions awarded at meeting.

Jason leading Master Angler with 3 more competitions to go.

BOAT COMPETITIONS FOR 2012

We have decided to fish two charter boat competition this year. Dates are as follows:

Cobh on the 19th May.

Ballyhack on the 9th June.

We have also booked Kilmore on 1st September as standby date and this will be used as a club

outing if not needed for competition.

Paul Lynam Memorial Competition is fixed for 21nd July in Howth.

Three more competitions to be agreed at a later date.
